Donald Young was a prominent Chicago gallerist who worked with major contemporary artists including Richard Serra, Donald Judd, and Jeff Koons. Young was born in England in 1942. He worked as an art dealer for ten years, before relocating to Chicago and opening the Young Hoffman Gallery in 1978 with Rhona Hoffman. Young moved on to open the Donald Young Gallery in 1983. The gallery held a strong presence in the Chicago art world until it closed after his passing in 2012.
